Dan
McGowan Bio
Dan McGowan is a Denver-based comedian who performs clean, G-rated,
observational comedy and parody songs for audiences everywhere.
Born in Reno, Nevada, Dan grew up in an entertainment family. His
parents were musical entertainers who headed up a band that performed
the top hits of their day in theaters, showrooms, casinos and nightclubs
all over Nevada. When Dan was five-years-old, his parents decided to
make the move to Los Angeles. Thankfully, they took Dan with them. It
was within this creative environment that Dan began to hone his own
skills as a musician, actor and comedian.
Since his early adult years, Dan has worked as an on-camera and
voice-over actor, music composer, songwriter and clean stand-up comic
with credits that include The Comedy Store and Improv in Los Angeles;
Comedy Works, The Improv, Wits End, Loonees in Colorado, and various
corporate and church events across the United States. His acting credits
include national commercials for McDonalds, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and
more. Most recently Dan was a finalist in the search for the new Maytag
Repairman.
Dan, who has appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” has a passion for
raising the bar on family-friendly comedy and entertainment. He achieves
this goal by performing clean comedy in comedy clubs, churches and for
corporate events as well as producing his “Just Pure Laughs” comedy
shows that bring clean comedy appropriate to corporate and church
gatherings of all sizes and ages.
Dan lives in the Denver area with his wife Kathy and their two teen-age
sons. Dan’s daughter attends Azusa Pacific University in Southern
California.
